Hi, I'm Luci Buckland. I have two young kids, Dennis and Rachel, and my husband Nick and I live with our family in Tamboerskloof.

I am, for my sins, the Chairperson of the Tamboerskloof Homeowners' Association. My interest in our area began while I was on maternity leave after having Dennis. I really wanted to do something that would better our situation. Crime was a big problem in our area at that time and so I started looking at security options.

Having grown up in the 'old' (unsophisticated) Hout Bay I have very high expectations of what I want for my own kids and so things have naturally progressed on to looking at how Tamboerskloof can be improved.

Security seems to have improved over the years but for me the best result of all my efforts has been being part of our community. The response and support that I have received from this community has been heartwarming, thank you.

And a special thank you to Stefanie Hefer, our Deputy Chairperson, whose ongoing mind-power, energy and plain old moral support has been steadfast.
